A link that explains ‘continuity’
Continuity means when you shot/edit them into a perfect sequence of events to make the shot flow. For example, if someone had a blue top on in one shot and then the camera was facing away for a couple of minutes and then they had a green top on, the shot would not look continuous.

‘match on action’
Match on action is when there is a shot of
something and then cuts to a zoomed in or closer shot of the same thing. For example,
a phone rings and the person is in a long shot. When the person puts the phone
to their ear, the shots change into a close up.

Shot reverse shot, is when you
are filming two people having a conversation and the camera is point over the
other persons shoulder, to give the impression they are talking to each other. this
is also done using the 180 degree rule, to make sure the 2 people aren’t facing
the same way.

You have researched continuity not continuity editing. Please google continuity editing to see it defining match on action, 180 degree rule etc. Continuity isn't so much about editing as making sure during the filming the actor repeats all actions in the same way and the props/costume remain the same.
ReplyDeleteOverall, it's a fantastic blog. Great design, illustrations and links. Make the alterations recommended and complete post 4 and 5 for next weeks homework.
ReplyDeleteFYI - you can do blogs out of numerical order and then re-jig by altering the date of entry. This way you don't have to let post 4 slow your progress.
Well done.
